and shared, that the monk and Member of Parliament for Europe of the Tibetan Exile Parliament Thubten Wangchen is on his way from Berlin to Prague and would like to make a stopover at the Görlitz Nature Conservation Zoo. He learned, that there is a Tibetan village there, and that is unique in Europe. Thubten Wangchen, 1954 born in Tibet, had to go to Kathmandu at the age of five, Flee Nepal. Since 1981 he lives in Europe, 1994 he founded the Tibet House Barcelona (Tibet House) of which he is still director today.

As a member of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, he is currently traveling throughout Europe, to get involved with the global campaign „Flame of Truth" („Flame of Truth") To collect signatures for the petition for a dignified life for the Tibetan people in Tibet. Since 2009 are in Tibet 56 Tibetans set themselves on fire in protest against China's restrictive policies and disproportionate violence in Tibet; alone 12 this year. The campaign began in Europe „Flame of Truth" in Barcelona am 2. September, Democracy Day. On his „Torch relay" Thubten Wangchen also travels to German cities. He has already visited Hamburg and Berlin. After his stays in Prague and Vienna, Munich will also follow.

But on 19. In October he made an unscheduled stop in Görlitz. He stood in the Tibetan village happy and overwhelmed, fed the yaks and camels, was happy about the cashmere goats and stroked the spectacled sheep. In the Tibetan farmhouse he said this again and again: He feels at home. In the Tibetan village in Görlitz it is like Tibet. He has to tell the Dalai Lama about this. He would like to live here for a week, because he cannot go to his homeland. 1987 was his last time in Tibet…
