There are leaps of interest where science and consciousness come into play amicably, feeding off each other..
On this occasion, a project promoted from the Clinical Hospital of Barcelona with the collaboration of the House of Tibet Foundation of Barcelona and the support of Alicia Beltran, our Tibetan yoga teacher.
It is the first scientific article on the benefits of tibetan yoga (Lu Jong) and , having been a humble pilot study, demonstrates the benefits that meditation and yoga practices can generate in society and, specifically, in adolescents with psychiatric disorders.
The idea of the study was born from an impulse from the social services of the Hospital Clínic that directly assist these patients..
They were looking for an activity that would contribute calm, body awareness and well-being to the sick at the day hospital.
This collaboration is a first step towards a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of this type of pathology., a joint effort of psychiatric medical treatments and the practice of yoga in therapeutic processes.
It has been a project that has enriched us by giving us the opportunity to practice Bodhichitta towards these young people from the Foundation and the collaborating team..
We wish, especially to all our psychologist readers, psychiatrists or therapists, May this article be useful to you on a personal level., professional and that through its dissemination the benefits of this ancient practice are known.
Our most sincere thanks to the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona for the trust they have placed in our team and especially to the entire team that participated in the pilot project..
