Of 2010 s’han autoimmolat 44 people protesting the Chinese repression
The tibet, un altiplà rodejat de les serralades gegantines de l'Himàlaia (the famous roof of the world), it has been isolated for many centuries. This has allowed him to develop a thousand culture·lenary and unique, which unfortunately China has not stopped mistreating, since he invaded it 10 March 1959. An occupation that has already caused the death of more than 1,2 millions of Tibetans. Besides, of 2010 s’han autoimmolat 44 people protesting the Chinese repression that most of the population suffers just for expressing their feelings and opinions.

SEPTEMBER 2012
L’any 1949, with the creation of the People's Republic of China, Beijing sent occupation troops to Tibet, who agreed to sign a treaty dictating the sovereignty of the Chinese government over Tibetan territory and its autonomy in matters of internal affairs.
The agreement established the liberation of Tibet from foreign feudal invaders, their reintegration into the 'Mother Earth’ and the literacy of the Tibetan population. But the real reasons for it all, according to the Casa del Tibet Foundation in Barcelona (FCT), it was these others: the Chinese will to expand the territorial scope to improve the protection of its border, l'augment del comerç exterior i l'explotació dels recursos naturals del nou territori.
But as the Chinese gained more control, they began to violate the treaty by increasing their dominance. This fact created a resistance, growing more and more, which led to a national uprising in 1959, amb la major manifestació en la història d'aquest país per exigir la independència. L'exèrcit xinès va aconseguir doblegar la rebel·Lyon with military actions that led to the death of thousands of Tibetans. As a consequence, desenes de milers de persones es van exiliar i el cap d'Estat i líder espiritual del Tibet, el catorzè Dalai Lama, and its main col·laboradors van haver de fugir cap a l'Índia.
The international community reacted with shock to these events. La situació va ser discutida en nombroses ocasions per l'Assemblea General de les Nacions Unides, between the years 1959 i 1965, which approved three resolutions, condemning China's human rights violations in Tibet and requiring China to respect those rights, including Tibet's right to self-determination.
Al llarg dels vint anys posteriors a l'aixecament, la destrucció de la cultura tibetana i l'opressió del seu poble van ser brutals. Prop of 1,2 millions of Tibetans died as a result of China's repressive policies. Many more Tibetans ended up in prisons and others in forced labor camps. I uns 6.000 monasteries and temples were destroyed and looted.
L’any 1980, the General Secretary of the Communist Party visited Tibet and carried out a policy of 'recovery’ upon discovering the magnitude of the destruction he suffered, but the 1987 he was forced to resign his post.
I lived in Lhasa 300.000 people and, today, two thirds of the population are Chinese. currently, the streets of the Tibetan capital are full of police and soldiers. While the Chinese have full freedom of movement, els tibetans s'han de sotmetre a innombrables controls i interrogatoris. Even today, some are condemned for expressing their feelings and opinions.
But if we pay attention to the Beijing version, his intervention has served to stop a plot by the Tibetan upper class that wished to maintain feudal rule over enslaved people. And even more: el gegant asiàtic va pregonant que ha aconseguit una fita tan significativa com l'emancipació dels esclaus als Estats Units.
New form of protest
March of 2010 a new form of protest was initiated against China's continued violation of human rights in Tibet. The Tibetan population began to self-immolate to denounce the repression suffered by Tibetan culture. since then, and until September 2012, s'han autoimmolat més de 44 tibetans, 39 the last year. Of the latter, els primers a cremar-se a l'estil bonze a l'interior del Tibet van ser dues persones autoimmolades a Lhasa, the capital, last May. since then, the wave of indiscriminate repression against everything and everyone related to Tibetan culture has not stopped growing, however minimal the suspicion of going against the Chinese government, as now the recording and dissemination of self-immolations.
I only have time for people from Brussel·THE, Ginebra, Nova York o Barcelona es demana a la Xina que autoritzi l’entrada al Tibet de delegacions internacionals d'observadors independents per analitzar el motiu de les torxes humanes.
House of Tibet Foundation (FCT)
La Fundació Casa del Tibet de Barcelona va néixer l'any 1994 as a non-profit cultural and solidarity association. It was inaugurated by the fourteenth Dalai Lama accompanied by the director and founder of the entity, Venerable Thubten Wangchen.
Its main objectives are to spread Tibetan culture and help this needy and persecuted people, bàsicament als refugiats a l'exili. L'entitat defensa la cultura i els drets del poble tibetà, no es rendeix en la recerca d'ajudes internacionals i promou l'activitat solidària destinada als tibetans.
Besides, the FCT is committed to a positive exchange of completely opposite cultures, com són l'occidental i la tibetana, with the aim of becoming a more open space, didactic, seductive and enriching for everyone. A space that works thanks to the support of volunteers and sympathizers who make this dissemination task possible.
Due to restrictions imposed by the Chinese government after the invasion, those living in Tibet cannot be helped directly. That's why, la FCT intenta cridar l'atenció sobre la situació tibetana actual i donar veu als milers de tibetans que viuen sota la repressió xinesa.
