He 5 In September, one of the most important actions that will be carried out from the Tibetan exile begins: la campaña "Llama de la Verdad", which will be launched simultaneously in Europe, United States and Canada, after having already done it in India on 6 July, Dalai Lama's birthday.

The director of the Casa del Tíbet Foundation and deputy for Europe in the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Ven. Thubten Wangchen, will travel to twenty-two European countries for two months with the aim of raising awareness as many people as possible about the critical situation in Tibet and urging the United Nations to take responsibility for compliance with human rights in the area., enforcing agreed resolutions and sending delegations of observers to investigate the current crisis.

“We want to give an important message to the world: ¡Tibet exists!” Thubten Wangchen announced when presenting the campaign in Barcelona. A caravan of motorcycles and cars, headed by the official car of the European tour, has taken a turn this sunday (coinciding with Tibetan Democracy Day) through emblematic places of the city to disseminate the initiative. “Five continents are raising the flame of truth today. ¿how true? That of thousands of years of history in which Tibet has always been Tibet, never part of china. They say the opposite but they have no reason or logic or evidence.” said the director of the Foundation.

The tour will pass through the main European cities collecting signatures and holding press conferences in each of them., with the intention of obtaining media coverage that is denied in most countries. According to Thubten Wangchen, “There is not much talk about Tibet because everyone is behind made in China”. The truth is that the echo in the national and foreign press is very scarce., despite the fact that the situation in the Himalayas worsens every day and they are already 51 the young people who have immolated themselves asking for a peaceful solution and the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet.

Agrees on the need for international awareness, Xavier Noguer, Tibet House volunteer and driver of the “simple” car, rojo, but with a good atmosphere” (as described by Wangchen himself) that will take them both along the route of the twenty-two countries. “I am leaving because I feel that Tibetans need help from people outside to make themselves heard in the world.”, since alone they are not taken into account. How the government in exile is considered terrorist by China, its citizens lack institutional support” warns Xavi.

The day 4 November “the flame of truth” concludes its tour of Europe, with the presentation of the appeal letter and signatures to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. On the other continents, The campaign ends on 10 December, when in New York and New Delhi red cars carry to the authorities the voices of a world that demands freedom and justice for Tibet.
