China calls on UN countries to boycott Dalai Lama's visit to Geneva

GINEBRA, 10 Mar. (Reuters/EP) –    China has asked United Nations countries to boycott the visit that the Dalai Lama will make this Friday to Geneva, al considerar que viola "la soberanía y la integridad territorial" del gigante asiático por sus "actividades separatistas". The Chinese delegation at the UN headquarters in Geneva has sent a letter to diplomats and agents of the international organization to expressly ask them not to attend the event organized for tomorrow by the Geneva Institute with Nobel Prize winners..

"Invitar al 14º Dalai Lama to the aforementioned event violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China, en contravención de los objetivos y principios de la Carta de Naciones Unidas", reads the letter, a la que ha tenido acceso Reuters.
