RADIO PRAGUE: Town councils in Czechia will express their solidarity with Tibet

The town councils of some 750 Cities and towns in the Czech Republic will participate in the Flag for Tibet initiative this year. In the town halls the 10 March the flag of Tibet in order to express support for the efforts for its independence. The Tibetan flag will also be raised by numerous schools in the country.

Throughout the month of March, activities in support of the Tibetan people will be held in the Czech Republic. The Flag for Tibet initiative commemorates the anniversary of the uprising 1959 in Lhasa, who was brutally oppressed by the Chinese regime, leaving a balance of at least 80 000 dead tibetans. This year we remember the 60 anniversary of those sad events.
