We are very sorry for the catastrophe that occurred in Nepal last Saturday and all the suffering it is causing. Until now, according to the latest information, more of 3.600 dead and 6 thousand injureds.
Many friends have called us to express their condolences and solidarityd, feelings that we accompany and transmit to the families of those affected, according to our possibilities.
Nepal has historically had a long connection with Tibet. After the invasion of China in 1959, It has been a very kind and generous country with the Tibetan refugees who settled there to rebuild their lives.. We are saddened that so many historic buildings, recognized as world heritage, were destroyed by the earthquake. ¡We will never forget the kindness of the Government of Nepal and the Nepalese people!
just yesterday, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile, They officially expressed their condolences and offered donations to help the victims.
No one can prevent this type of natural disaster. The earthquake in Nepal has also had repercussions in India, Pakistan and Tibet. As far as we know, hundreds of houses have been affected and at least 17 Tibetans have died in Tibet.
It is mars 28 April at 8 p.m., At the Fundació Casa del Tíbet we will dedicate prayers and mantras, with offering of candles and incense, to the victims and their families.
Fundraising for those affected
We have opened an account to collect funds that we will send to those affected via the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Brussels. Any amount contributed to help the victims will be very welcome and useful. These are the data:
