The Chinese government lies when it tells the world that there is freedom of expression and religious freedom in the country. The Larung Gar destruction action, the largest Buddhist university not only in Tibet but in the world, It is clear proof that Beijing is doing everything in its power to prevent the close 10.000 inhabitants of Larung Gar continue their studies and practice of Buddhist philosophy.
Larung Gar is in danger. The Chinese government is carrying out accelerated demolition work to expel at least 5000 practitioners until October 2017. The first round of demolitions has already begun (video destruction & desolation).
The House of Tibet Foundation joins the “Global Day of Action for Larung Gar” that this is celebrated 19 October 2016 in the main cities in the world and perform this afternoon, between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., an act in University Square of Barcelona, coinciding with the traditional Lhatar.
Dear friends, If you have free time and willingness to participate in this event, See you later in Plaza Universidad de Barcelona.
Thank you as always for your sympathy and solidarity..

Larung Gar Tibetan Buddhist Institute
Today and behind the back of the International Community, The Chinese Government is carrying out one of the most aggressive actions against cultural heritage, religious and human in Tibet: The destruction of the Larung Gar Tibetan Buddhist Institute
in 1980 The Ngarig Larung Buddhist Academy was founded. The purpose of the Institute is to provide ecumenical training in Tibetan Buddhism in order to satisfy the need for the empowerment of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy., seriously affected by the Chinese Cultural Revolution in Tibet between the years 1966-76.
Despite its remote location, It is currently one of the largest and most influential institutes for the study of Tibetan Buddhism in the world..
Large-scale demolitions of monks' and nuns' homes in Larung Gar, in eastern Tibet, They started in July 2016 under the orders of the Chinese government. He 20 July the siege began with the aim of reducing the number of religious by half, of the 10,000 current to 5,000. An inhuman and unconstitutional eviction.
Human Rights Watch has reported that since April 2016 more of 1,000 nuns have been forced to leave the institution and return to their homes.
In addition to the destruction of homes and expulsion of religious students, authorities have increased surveillance, implementing entry selection procedures and the formation of new monastery management committees led mostly by government officials.
Those who have shared images and information about the destruction are under investigation by Chinese authorities and may be convicted.
This interference in matters related to Tibetan Buddhism is contrary to China's own Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights., which guarantee religious freedom for all.
Thus We urge the intervention of the International Community to stop this new and serious aggression against the Tibetan people.
