HRW calls on China to allow UN investigators access to Tibet

Beijing, 9 mar (EFE).- Human Rights Watch (HRW) Today called on China to allow United Nations experts access to Tibetan areas to assess the situation of imprisoned Tibetans., who are denied contact with family members and lawyers.

The organization said in a statement, who denounced that it is currently difficult to know how many Tibetans remain behind bars.

Last year, UN investigators have already formally expressed their concern to the Chinese authorities about the mass expulsion of monks at the end of 2016 and the demolition of houses in the Larung Gar monastery in Kandze, Proviction of Sichuan (west).

HRW considers it necessary for investigators to have access to the area to document alleged rights violations and publicly report on possible accountability measures..

EFE
