Valencia, 31 ene (EFE).- El exjuez Baltasar Garzón participará en una de las mesas redondas de la novena edición del Festival Internacional de Cine y Derechos Humanos 'Humans Fest'de València, organized by the Foundation for Justice and which will be held in the Valencian capital of the 9 al 18 February.
The objective of this festival is to promote critical reflection on the causes of inequality through committed cinema and spaces for debate, according to organizational sources, which has prepared a forum on Human Rights to address the problem from different perspectives and voices.
This year, The Forum has three round tables in which media topics will be addressed, Universal Justice and cinema and democracy.
The forum, joined the official section and the meeting with directors, complete a program that encourages critical reflection, the promotion, dissemination and training on Human Rights and their violation, according to sources.
The first round table, "Medios de comunicación y DDHH", will be celebrated on 12 February, at 17:00 hours, at the Rector Peset Residence Hall and will reflect on the treatment and coverage given by the media to human rights issues.
La mesa sobre "Justicia Universal" will be celebrated on 13 February in the Aula Magna of La Nau. The day will start at 16:30 hours with the preview of the documentary Kidnapping Tibet, by director Juanma Chavarrías, and later there will be a colloquium on the principle that allows any state to investigate and prosecute serious crimes, Like those with humanity or genocide, regardless of where they happen.
Former judge Baltasar Garzón as well as José Elías Esteve will participate in this table., Professor of the University of Valencia and lawyer in the Tibetan case; Juanma Chavarrías, director of Kidnapping Tibet; and Hector Faver, Director of the documentary participating in the Official Section Lesa Humanity and Thubten Wangchen, Representative by Europe of the Tibetan Parliament in exile.
Finally, he 15 February, at 17:00 hours and in the Aula Magna of La Nau, se celebrará una mesa redonda sobre "Cine, derechos humanos y democracia". EFE
