lainformacion.com –  Friday, 28/02/14

The Tibetans who filed a complaint in the National Court for genocide against Chinese leaders seek support in London against the reform of universal justice that the Congress of Deputies approved this week, that limits international jurisdiction in Spain.
In a statement, These Tibetan plaintiffs remember that universal justice allowed the judge Baltasar Garzón will order the arrest of the former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1998. The former Chilean official resided at that time in the united kingdom.
To try to avoid the limitation of this legislation, These Tibetans who have filed a complaint in the Court are visiting London. They seek support against the reform that would prevent investigation of Chinese actions in the Tibet in the eighties and nineties.
The Tibetan whistleblowers, among whom is the Spanish monk Thubten Whanghen, They consider that “the Spanish Government gives in to Chinese fury and shelves historic legislation on human rights, by making controversial restrictions on a fundamental principle of the international standard”.
For these complainants, This reform “sets a precedent for all of Europe”, that “would affect the entire system of international law by allowing an authoritarian government, in this case China, decide how it should be applied” universal justice.
At the moment, This case continues its course in the National Court, where Judge Ismael Moreno ordered the international search and capture and the entry into unconditional prison without bail for the former president of China Jiang Zemin. Four other former leaders of the country are also being sought., whom he accuses of being those allegedly responsible for the genocide perpetrated by the communist government in Tibet.
