A debate and act of rejection of the Universal Justice Reform of Spain takes place on Wednesday 30 April at the University of Valencia, as part of a cycle in different universities in the country.

"He 15 Last March the reform of the article came into force 23 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary.  “This legislative modification represents the de facto elimination of the principle of Universal Justice in Spain.”, communicated the Pro Human Rights Organization of Spain APDHE, organizer of the meeting with its president Jacinto Lara Bonilla,

The principle of Universal Justice empowers any state to investigate international crimes that, by its nature, affect the international community as a whole, but legislators of the current Government modified the law without listening to the massive rejection of the majority of the country's Institutions.

"The PROSUAN RIGHT PRO ASSOCIATION OF SPAIN firmly rejects this reform of universal justice, and , in collaboration with different Universities, celebrates a cycle of conferences in relation to this matter, in which the importance of universal justice is debated as an instrument against impunity and as a mechanism to protect victims.”, highlighted APDHE,

The lawyer intervenes in the debate José Elías Esteve,  Professor of Public International Law at the University of Valencia, editor and investigator of the complaints against the genocide in Tibet.

“May the work of years, that the suffering of half a century of the victims, be destroyed in one afternoon by a series of unethical politicians who disregard international human rights law, It's an absolute frustration.", Esteves told The Epoch Times, when the Popular Party approved the reform. Today lawyer Esteve will debate the issue with Argentine lawyer Carlos Slepoy Prada, also an expert in Universal Justice. blind, As a lawyer, he suffered kidnapping and torture during the government of Isabel Martínez. Expatriated to Spain and collaborated with Baltazar Garzón in the arrest order of former General Augusto Pinochet when the former leader of the Chilean dictatorship traveled to the United Kingdom..

The reform of the law annulled the arrest warrant issued against Chinese leaders in the Tibetan cause.

The journalist and writer will complete the exhibition Juan Pablo Cardenal, co-author of the book “The silent Chinese conquest” and David Couso, brother of the victim of reporter José Couso, killed during the invasion of Iraq in the year 2003.

The cycle of presentations at the Universities began on 27 March at the Carlos III University of Madrid. It was followed on April 8 at the University of Castilla La Mancha and on April 21 at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville.
