Since Friday, and until sunday, teaches a course on the Bards at the La Laguna Casino, the total cycle of existence that passes between death and the womb. This is the lama Durbgu Tempa, of the Kagyu lineage, one of the five branches of Buddhism, that since 1984 imparts his teachings, from Dag Shang Kagyu center, installed in the mountains of Benasque (Huesca).

The venerable, born in Bhutan, in 1955, has been invited by the Buddhist center Tenerife Kagyu Dyang Chub Chöling, and his visits to the Island as well as to Gran Canaria are common., “where we have more than three hundred people who follow us”, comments the lama, with understandable Spanish, which he began practicing when his mentor in Sonada (India), where he came with 18 years, Kalu Rinpoche took it with him on his journey through the West and Lama Puntsok Wangdü, and resident in Spain, appointed him spiritual guide of a dozen Spanish centers, like the one from La Laguna.

In the courses he will give at the Casino he will talk about the Bards, which he defines as “the process of nature to prepare for reincarnation, but without being scared, it's about how to live, how to dream, how to learn, without fear of death” because “the concepts of karma and rebirth are accepted as essential dogmas in Buddhism”, letting out a huge laugh when he comments “I am reincarnated.”, like you, But I don't have a category.".

For the lama “Buddhism is not a worldly monarchy, like the one in Bhutan, but yes a spiritual monarchy” and when told about the similarities that there may be between Christianity and Buddhism, with its different branches or lineages, Drubgy Tempa affirms that “the head is the same, because it comes beyond 2.500 years, because we have five lineages, but they all come from Buddha, like the different branches of Christianity, although the difference from Buddha's teaching is that the God or Goddess is within us, “Buddhism is nothing more than finding yourself.”.

He seems enthusiastic when told about the rise of Buddhism in the West. “Buddhism is growing in Europe, in Germany, in France, grows because His Holiness Dalai Lama moves a lot around the world, as I do on a smaller scale throughout Spain”.

And considers meditation essential to combat the rush of today's society: “Speed is not healthy, you have to live with patience, piano piano. When people speed up or honk their horn on a highway they have no inner peace, just stress. Tranquility and meditation is always the best help”, emphasize.
