Tenzon Dhonden, The Dalai Lama's personal emissary reported that the donation was made up of tickets to three conferences that the spiritual leader gave at State universities. (SDSU) and from California (UCSD) last April.
The Dalai Lama decided that the Monarch school, for homeless children, was the most suitable to receive the donation. The Tibetan religious and political leader chose in the spring to appear in forums accessible to San Diegans, and sought in space to deliver his message to audiences of young students, without performing in exclusive or luxurious settings.
The Monarch school thanked the Dalai Lama for his contribution. Her classes focus on community participation and leadership among orphaned children or children from homeless families.. With the help of companies, the school is trying to build a new educational building in the vicinity of Barrio Logan.
