Beijing, 21 jun (EFE).- Two Tibetans set themselves on fire, one killing himself and the other seriously injured in Qinghai province., in western China, local authorities reported today through the Xinhua agency.

Local farmers reported that the deceased was a native Kardo shepherd, while the wounded, who is still unconscious, could be a migrant carpenter from Aba prefecture, in the southwest of neighboring western Sichuan Province, where many immolations have also occurred.

In the same province of Qinghai, Another person died last Friday after being burned in a bonze style, and two monks carried out the same protest act in Lhasa, The Tibetan capital, at the end of may.

More than thirty people, mostly monks, have been immolated in the last two years in areas with a Tibetan population in China, apparently to demand the independence of that people and demand the return of the Dalai Lama, your religious leader.

Independence groups in exile point out that these actions are the result of the desperation of the Tibetan people due to the repression of their culture and religion..

Beijing, For its part, accuses the Dalai Lama of not using his influence to stop the immolations or even instigating them, Although the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 has publicly stated that these acts must stop.
