The leader of the Burmese opposition, Aung San Suu Kyi, met in London with the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, at the first meeting between the two winners of the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Dalai Lama, who is also on tour in the UK, participated in campaigns for Suu Kyi's release during his 15 years of house arrest in Burma.

Suu Kyi will return to London on Thursday to address both houses of Parliament, after receiving an honorary degree from the University of Oxford which was awarded to him in 1993.
