A Buddhist monk of British origin set himself on fire in a monastery located in the south of France. The immolation would be in protest of Chinese rule in Tibet.
The religious man doused himself with gasoline and immolated himself in an interior patio of the facility, where he had lived for five years.
His companions had tried to rescue him without success., according to local police.
