"Las antorchas humanas del Tíbet" was broadcast for the first time on 25 May on BBC World and the BBC News channel. The program 24 minutes focuses on the latest self-immolations and protests in Tibet, and its impact on the exiled Tibetan community. It was part of the BBC World series.
La corresponsal de la BBC Sue Lloyd-Roberts en "Las antorchas humanas del Tíbet" asks the Dalai Lama for his views on the current situation in Tibet and whether the policy of non-violence is still viable. There are also interviews with Lobsang Sangay, el Kalon Tripa (First Minister of Tibetan Government in exile), to witnesses of the self-immolations who have recently escaped from Tibet and to members of the exiled community.
A shortened six-minute version of the program aired in April, in the UK on Newsnight, from BBC2.
