Burmese opposition figure Aung San Suu Kyi and the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of the Tibetans, will participate in mid-September in the 17º edition of the international conference of intellectuals and politicians, Forum 2000, in Prague, The organizers reported this Monday.
Aung San Suu Kyi and the Dalai Lama, both Nobel Peace Prize winners, "figuran entre los invitados al Foro 2000. Tomarán la palabra durante reuniones y debates", Filip Sebek said to AFP, conference spokesperson.
An official interview between the Burmese opposition leader and the Dalai Lama is not planned, added this spokesperson, sin excluir sin embargo la posibilidad de una reunión "privada" between these two figures.
Jointly founded by former Czech president Vaclav Havel (1936-2011) and the American writer Elie Wiesel, the forum 2000 takes place every year in Prague since 1997.
