3 March | 11:00

At the request of many people, and taking advantage of this auspicious occasion, Our director Thubten Wangchen will hold a shelter ceremony at 11 am in the morning. It is necessary to reserve in advance to properly prepare the ceremony.

Chotrul Düchen, o “Buddha's Day of Miracles”, It is one of the four main holy days of Tibetan Buddhism. The day is celebrated 15 of the first month of the Tibetan new year, full moon day, and marks the end of the “15 Days of Miracles”, the period in which Shakyamuni Buddha performed different miracles before his disciples to strengthen their devotion and subdue six non-Buddhist masters who had challenged him.

This day is considered very auspicious for the practice as it is believed that the effects of positive and negative actions are multiplied ten million times.. The entire first month of the Tibetan calendar, known as Bumjur Dawa, is considered the “month of miracles” where every day is a day of multiplication of merits.

It is also the day of “Butter Lamp Festival”, or Chonga Choepa, a time to light butter lamps, candles and lights that symbolize the illumination of the darkness of ignorance through the light of wisdom.

on this day, practitioners focus on virtuous activities, how to make offerings, meditate, recite prayers and practice generosity, in order to accumulate large amounts of merit.

It is a reminder to cultivate compassion, wisdom, and to focus on spiritual practice.
