Thubten Wangchen has been living in Barcelona for thirty years, but he is fully bound to his land. He is a Buddhist monk, director of the House of Tibet, and follows from a distance the struggle of his people to achieve one day, no longer the longed-for independence, but autonomy, and that the Dalai Lama and all exiles like him can return to live on the Tibetan plateau. From here he also participates in this struggle by organizing acts of denouncing the repression of the Chinese government, and makes his culture known, as a Tibetan and as a Buddhist monk. We will hear him speaking in Tibetan, a language, diu, repressed by the Chinese government and spoken by about six million people in Tibet and two hundred thousand more who live in exile.
