We deeply regret to inform you that the younger brother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Ngari Rinpoche, has died at the age of 80 years.

LOSAR day is approaching!, Tibetan New Year 2153 of the Fire Horse! Tibetans celebrate LOSAR with great joy: they offer khatas (traditional white silk scarves) on family altars, in the monasteries and place them on each other while greeting each other with a TASHI DELEK (good wishes), wishing prosperity for the coming year.

To welcome the new year with our best wishes for a very auspicious one., The Casa del Tibet Foundation and the Tibetan Community Association have prepared a special program with two celebrations: one spiritual and another more festive.

WEDNESDAY 18 FEBRUARY 11 h

The first day of LOSAR, our director Thubten Wangchen will lead a ceremony with the traditional offering of khatas to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. At the end of the ceremony we will share sweet and salty tea, sweet rice and kabses (tibetan cookies).

SATURDAY 21 FEBRUARY 18h CANCELED
LOSAR for Tibetans is an auspicious time to renew and celebrate life. So Saturday day 21 February will be the day of the most festive commemoration and the Tibetan Community will perform some of the dances and songs of Tibet. This year we are very happy to have the presence of the professional Tibetan singer and musician the Sr. Kalsang Dhondup. Born in Tibet and exiled in India, studied traditional Tibetan music and dance at the Bylakuppe Tibetan School. He currently lives in Paris where he teaches traditional Tibetan music and dance to children.. At the end of the party we will share sweet and salty tea, sweet rice and kabses (tibetan cookies).
