The House of Tibet

His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama officially inaugurated the House of Tibet Foundation, in the new headquarters on c/ Rosselló 181 from Barcelona, the day 11 September 2007. Cut the ribbon and between flower petals, accompanied by Ven. Thubten Wangchen, Director and founder of the entity and in the midst of the numerous attendees, partners and members of the Tibetan community, blessed the rooms and spaces of the building. Story about The House of Tibet

The House of Tibet in Barcelona was born as a non-profit cultural and solidarity association in the year 1994; the old headquarters had also been inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama that year. The purpose of the entity is to disseminate in our country the indigenous culture of tibet, preserving its ancient wealth in its different manifestations and its possible contributions to today's modern society, on the one hand, and on the other, help the tibetan people, especially refugees in exile.
After years of intense work, the House of Tibet was transformed into a Foundation to better fulfill its objectives in the defense of the culture and rights of the Tibetan people, international cooperation and solidarity activity aimed at this needy and persecuted people, and in the countries that host them.
In recognition of the work carried out since its inauguration, They are Holiness the Dalai Lama accepted the Honorary Presidency of the foundation, which was a great incentive for the entity.
