ARRIVAL OF VENERABLE GESHE TENZIN DAMCHOE IN SEPTEMBER

From the Casa del Tibet Foundation we are very happy to announce the arrival of the Venerable Geshe Tenzin Damchoe as resident lama. Geshe Damchoe has confirmed that in mid-September he will join the headquarters of the Casa del Tibet Foundation and in the last week of the month he will begin meditation classes, philosophy, Buddhist science and practices. Its teaching program will be open to anyone interested in deepening the knowledge of the rich Tibetan tradition., its contribution to well-being in the modern world and its links with Western science. Later as a facilitator of the SEE Learning program (Social Learning, Emotional and ethical) Geshe-la will also implement studies from this international educational program created by Emory University under the auspices of the Dalai Lama.

Biography
Venerable Geshe Tenzin Damchoe was born in Dharamsala (India), attended Lower TCV School and, after completing the tenth grade, He studied commerce at the TCV school in Bylakuppe. Thereafter,, earned a bachelor's degree in Commerce from the St. Philomena’s College (University of Mysore) and a master's degree in Sociology from IGNOU. Later, He entered the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, where he studied during 16 years and obtained the title of Geshe (equivalent to a doctorate) at Drepung Loseling Monastery, in South India.. He currently works as a professor at Sarah College for Higher Tibetan Studies, teaching classes in Buddhist philosophy and practices, as well as meditation. He also performs coordination functions for various higher education institutions. He has taught Buddhist philosophy and practices to students of programs such as Kivunimm, Earlham College y Emory University (EE. His.), as well as students from the Tibet Fund; in addition, He spent a stay as a visiting researcher at the Oriental Institute of the University of Oxford (England). He also trained as a facilitator of the SEE Learning program.
