Gompa -  Meditation Hall

(Click here to have a panoramic view of the Gompa)

The Gom-pa (literally meaning “place of meditation” in Tibetan) is the main hall of the foundation: a space used for teachings, empowerments and Buddhist ritual ceremonies, as well as conferences, courses, book presentations, concerts and film showings. Following the traditional Tibetan style, the Gompa has a “thousand Buddhas” for the benefit of all beings.

Mini-gompa

The small jewel of the foundation, its walls are painted with the life of Buddha Sakyamuni, from his awakening to his Paranirvana. This hall was used by His Holiness the Dalai Lama during his visit to Barcelona in 2007. This is a place for small meditation groups.

Chenresik Hall

This is the latest hall of the foundation, it is dedicated to the Buddha of Compassion (Chenrezik in Tibetan and Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit).  This is where different courses, including yoga courses, take place and also where study and meditation groups meet.

Exhibition Hall

Located at the first floor of the foundation, this space is used for exhibitions (photography, painting, sculpture, installations and other artistic expressions), which are changed every month.A Kalachakra Mandala is being permanently exhibited in this hall.  Although the characteristic of the mandala is its transience, since after its building it is dissolved in a ritual symbolizing the impermanence of all things, this mandala has been preserved in our foundation as a sample of the sacred Tibetan art. We also have in this hall a scale replica of the Potala Palace as it was when His Holiness the Dalai Lama lived in Tibet.
